Microscopicons are microscopic icons — they're the smallest symmetrically sized call-to-actions available in glorious space-saving 2 pixel by 2 pixel dimension.
Why use Microscopicons? Traditional icons are much larger in both file size, width, and height which can hog precious bandwidth and waste valuable application real estate. Microscopicons decrease download times while insuring plenty of space remains available on your screens.
The web space is changing. Embrace it.
This site is a parody. Full-size icons courtesy of Sweetie Free Icons released under the Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 License. Thank you, Joseph North; people like you make the web go 'round.
Why? I was fiddling around with php image functions wondering how programmaticly small I could make known shapes remain identifiable. Turns out 2x2 is waaay too small — but it *is* a funny idea. I wonder if people will use them.
